In 1868 ‘Nous’ was mated to a Tweed Water Spaniel, which Lord Tweedmouth had obtained from David Robertson who lived at Ladykirk on the River Tweed, named "Belle".

The mating between ‘Nous’ and ‘Belle’ produced four yellow female puppies which Lord Tweedmouth named Ada, Primrose, Crocus, and Cowslip.
